Work Description
Reporting to the Divisional Finance Manager, the Finance and operations manager (F&O) will be primarily responsible for overall finance and operations management of Aurum Institute Ghana. The F&O will also be required to undertake internal and external stakeholder engagement with Aurum colleagues and funder donors of the organisation, and various other stakeholders.
Technical Work Responsibilities
- Maintaining strong internal controls
- Ensuring right postings in accounting software
- Month-end close process
- Production of management accounts
- Preparation of year-end accounts for annual audit
- Collaborating with Auditors for statutory audit
- Production of funder reports
- Budget preparations
- Ensuring statutory filings are timely done
- Occasional arbitrary reports that may come from management and donors
Qualification
A qualified Accountant (ICA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA)
Advantageous
- Certificate in Project Management
Experience
- At least 5 years’ Post qualification experience
- Experience with donor funded project financial management
- Experience with engaging internal and external stakeholders in project management
- Experience with the review of project-related plans including workplans
Requirements
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Proficient personal computer skills especially in Microsoft office suite
- Minimal/Moderate overnight travel (up to 10%) by land or air if required.
- Willing to work overtime when required.
- Proven track record at working in fast-paced complex and dynamic environment
