Work Description

Reporting to the Divisional Finance Manager, the Finance and operations manager (F&O) will be primarily responsible for overall finance and operations management of Aurum Institute Ghana. The F&O will also be required to undertake internal and external stakeholder engagement with Aurum colleagues and funder donors of the organisation, and various other stakeholders.

 

Technical Work Responsibilities

  • Maintaining strong internal controls
  • Ensuring right postings in accounting software
  • Month-end close process
  • Production of management accounts
  • Preparation of year-end accounts for annual audit
  • Collaborating with Auditors for statutory audit
  • Production of funder reports
  • Budget preparations
  • Ensuring statutory filings are timely done
  • Occasional arbitrary reports that may come from management and donors
Requirements

Qualification

A qualified Accountant (ICA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA)

 

Advantageous

  • Certificate in Project Management

 

Experience

  • At least 5 years’ Post qualification experience
  • Experience with donor funded project financial management
  • Experience with engaging internal and external stakeholders in project management
  • Experience with the review of project-related plans including workplans

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficient personal computer skills especially in Microsoft office suite
  • Minimal/Moderate overnight travel (up to 10%) by land or air if required.
  • Willing to work overtime when required.
  • Proven track record at working in fast-paced complex and dynamic environment
